Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
there must be life on other planets. the universe is just too damn big. but my feelings are that we humans will be extinct before we ever discover it or it discovers us. it could be a virus or the slow deterioration of our environment or a nuclear war or who-knows-what but our society is just so fucked up in so many ways. the future scares me. it makes me not want to have kids when i think about it.

i run SETI@home even though i think this project will probably never discover an extraterrestrial signal and even if it did the stupid religious people of this world will think it is a hoax and wont believe it. some people actually still think the first lunar landing was a hoax!! i mean the stupidity of some people amazes me... i run SETI@home because a) my computer is on 24/7 anyway b) the whole distributed computing concept is cool as hell. c) i am a geek d) i get a free screen saver e) it impresses my friends LOL e) i have no life :-)
