Profile: Finch

Personal background
I'm a 65 year old male, married for 38 years now, and I have 2 sons. I am a graduate in electronics, and currently retired. Before retirement i was working as a team leader (consultant) for an IT firm.
Born in Veurne (the Dutch speaking part of Belgium), I studied in Oostende, and I now live in Lembeek (Vlaams-Brabant) in a nice house with 2400 m2 of garden. So gardening is my thing, as well as computers, and science fiction.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Statistically speaking, there must be millions of planets out there where life developed. Even if only a fraction of these developed intelligent life, that still would mean thousands of planets. We may never get to know each other, or even find proof for such existence, but it sure is worth a try. So I do my bit in crunching as many WU 's as I can.
I don’t think that ET life-form that would have the possibility to pay us a visit, would be aggressive, for such a technical knowledge would mean a long evolution time, and that usually means high morale standards.
