I started out as a child. Retired after 20 years in the U.S. Army. Went from playing tanks to computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Given the expanse of the universe, I would be more surprised if extra-terrestrial life did not exist. I think discovering it is more or less a matter of chance. As for the possibilities of benefits and dangers, there have been more ideas already described in both science and science fiction than I could ever fit in here. But, whether we discover or not, are more advanced or not, are friend or foe, the search will expand the human race.
