I'm from Bloomington,Il., age 49, I am a telecommunications worker for Verizon.
I am a Vietnam-era veteran (71-74). I was a demolition specialist in the U.S. Army, and a medic in the Il National Guard.
I am married, and have one Daughter.
My hobbies in no particular order are shooting,reading, and computer gaming.

I decided to get involved with SETI because I would like to think that in all the billions of galaxies out there, there just has to be at least one more intelligent life form.
As in all things unknown there are risks involved.
I don't know if we should beam out a message or not.
I think that would have to be a decision made by the people of Earth.
We are sending a message out that we are here everyday, since we have radio, and television broadcasts beaming out into space.
I just hope that if there are other life forms out there, that they will be able to show us how to get along with one another, and how we can keep from destroying this beautiful planet we live on.
