Personal background
There's really not much interesting to say about myself... I'm an alien entity sent to Earth to fulfill the Messiah prophecies of its various religions and save you all from the impending Apocalypse. Like I said, my life pretty boring. Yaaawn...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I know for a fact that intelligent life exists apart from Earth, because that's where I come from, so I suppose humans will discover it now because I'm telling them.
I think that humans (and the many human-disguised others who hang around here like I do) should transmit beacons so that my people have less trouble finding this place. I had a hell of a time looking for this little rock, and I don't have any gear to inform them of whereabouts it is. We should send directions.
I run SETI@home because I want to help in speeding up any process that can help me get you people to understand that I'm really NOT human. I think it's a great idea, and the concept of a huge, informal network of processors helping each other is like a very basic version of the much more useful and efficient computational systems that we have developed back home. I think the next step should be incorporating some kind of direct communications interface, built right into the software, not unlike the systems you call "chat rooms" and "instant messages". That would be incredibly useful and enjoyable and strengthen the program's sense of community, thus accelerating the growth of its popularity.
Then, when my people finally come, we can set up some of our instruments and show you how to use software like this for direct intravenous nutrition.
