Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course I believe there is life out there. Why else would I be running a program to try and help find where it is? Apart from the really cool screensaver!
Yes we should transmit a beacon into space. What should we transmit? Who knows but we certainly shouldn't send anything to do with religion. Never send any information about the biggest excuse for war and suffering we have ever discovered. Anyone who suggests the Tellytubbies will have to have their legs smacked!
The SETI project is the most impressive project I have come across. Quite an exciting thought that we are working together as part of the biggest supercomputer on the face of the planet and it's for a good cause! Just don't let the Pentagon or any other government agency find out about life out there 'cos knowing the paranoia of the human race they'll probably work out a way to bomb it!
