My Work
I am Computer Consultant, working from home in Bracknell.
I work primarily with local companies but I also with companies all over the place using the Internet to access systems remotely.
I have a small number of customers and enjoy a "lifestyle business" where the priorities are to have a comfortable lifestyle, to look after my clients in an ethical way and to not push anything on anyone. I am not seeking any additional business at this time.
I understand most of the technologies and spend a great deal of time keeping up to date with what is happening in the I.T. world.
My Life
I am in my forties and one of the first generation to get to use computers as I grew up, and yes I am a bit of a technophile.
I have two teen-aged daughters of whom I am very proud
I do voluntary work for an educational charity involved in training for adults and young people associated with Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce.
I am an environmentally aware, green, vegetarian, I love food (too much), I tend to eat organic food.
I love real beer and frequent the Olde Manor in Bracknell, which is an excellent pub.
I am a member of http://www.bracknell-lets.org.uk Bracknell Lets an organisation of members who help each other and use a non monetary currency called bricks to ensure fair(ish) play.
My Favourite restaurant is Don Beni in Wokingham.
I drive a LandRover County V8 which is the only vehicle I have ever really liked, she is not used a lot, because she uses too much petrol, I keep meaning to convert her to gas, but I just don't use her enough, she is very old but still has many more years left in her so I can just about pretend to square her with my environments views. I tend drive my wifes little Toyota Yaris most of the time.
I am not really into any sports, I tend to follow F1, mainly because of my interests in design and engineering.
I am a fan of all things Gerry Andersen ... Thunderbirds, Joe 90, UFO and all those groovy seventies things. |
