Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
seti@home is a wonderfull idea, it proves that mankind can work together for a greater perpose. i do think that life exists outside of our planet, but i think that we are to closed minded about what life elswhere is, just because on this planet "life" is classed as a biological being does not restrict the idea that "life" on another planet could'nt be energy based or a rock or somthing, i believe this is the reason why we are finding it so hard to detect life on other worlds. The only danger that i can think of is if we make contact with ET then judging by what happend when a human civilization met a less sophisticated civilization they might think we are insignificant and kill us all. yes we should have a beacon, it should transmit mathamatics so ET would know that we can think and have some sort of inteligence. i run seti@home because i think we should know that we are not alone, it might change the ideals of mankind and make us better people, and if i find somthing its nice to think i will be rememberd for somthing when i die.
