Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I started doing the Seti thing for 2 reasons, I was overclocking my PC and wanted to stress test the computer by running 6 apps at once. It worked fine with a 20% overclocked speed! Oh the second reason is that I am your stereotypical pudgy stoner science fiction geek who swears he saw aliens when he was stoned once.
And I like the idea of distributed computing. Have the Tibetan Buddhists heard of this? they can get all the names of god said in a weekend!
