O.K.! O.K! So...? Yeah, I'm a BELIEVER!! ... and... I'm Oh So Gullible!! Somebody tells me something, and I believe them!!! Somebody tells me I can make more money driving a truck cross country, so I quit my job to drive a truck! Somebody says they saw Big Foot... I believe them! ... a UFO, O.K. sounds reasonable... Aliens from outer space? Why not? I believe a man some 2000 years ago was hung on a cross until dead and then buried and then rose from the dead in three days... maybe he was from "out there" somewhere. He said his father was GOD and that he channeled messages from Him. I'm Oh So Gullible that not only do I believe that, but I believe I can communicate with Him too!!! Radio waves? Who needs 'em??
I've heard the argument that there must be other life "out there", because GOD wouldn't have made all of this just for us! I ask why not? Isn't he all powerful, everlasting, omnipitent, without limits? Do laws of physics apply to Him? Conservation of Energy? Why should He care about conservation? If He runs out of something He can just make more! There is absolutely no reason that He couldn't have made the entire universe just for us... after all He gave us something much more precious, much more valuable, than all of THIS... He gave us his only beloved son!! The notion of putting limits or constraints(conservation) on GOD is beyond my comprehension.
Will we ever make contact with E.T.? I do not think so... not with radio waves or microwaves. Are we alone? No! Are there mysteries in this world which we do not understand? Yes! Is Big Foot real? I think so. Why do I run SETI? Because there are things we do not understand, and we never will if we do not look... and because I'm the gullible one - if somebody told me they had received a signal from E.T., I'd believe them. Heck, it might even be me. |
