| Personal background |
Been a SETI@Home cruncher since 1996 (despite what my account info says about me), had a few other accounts that went south because i used a paid for web site service with email service as well.. oh well enough of that which doesnt interest you anyhow.
to be extremely short on certain points: 30 years old, MS personal Support Techie, single, astro newbie and a dreamer. moving on!
I'm employed in an outsourcing company that handles all personal support for scandinavia, thus not directly on the MS payroll (in other words, the employer doesnt say the magic Microsoft on my cheque), but still i handle the personal support for both Iceland and Denmark along with 1 other on a "Hybrid team" (both Icelandic and Danish) and around 18 agents in total for the Danish team including us "Hybrids" (Denmark, north of Germany).
I'm not quite sure how to define my fascination with this project as i'm torn between the "They might be out there" and the other more common "We are IT".
I do not want to be on either side if the other is wrong at some point which is probably why i keep crunching away at it.
There has to be something out there... intelligent or not, it's impossible that we should have the only planet with life on it! We may need to focus beyond the milkyway-chocolate-bar to see it, but something is out there, i know it in my heart!
I do believe 99.80% of the users here hope to assist in discovering new intelligent life, which is in such a chance calculation that i dare not put a number on the it.
Keep crunching away and let's hope for a "finding".
Btw., Sorry I don't have a picture yet up, but it's on the way for ya! |
