Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think there is life out there. As a religious person, I am pulled to belive that we are the only people here. As a scientist, I feel there are other out there. Why should we be the only one? Why would we be the only one? Maybe the other's haven't evolved as much as us or maybe its the oposite.

Danger's of discovery? Every played "King of the hill"? You push everybody else away and finally you are the only one left... you are the "King". We have people on earth who wish to take over nations or who wish to kill another race of people just to be king. Who is to say there isn't someone else out there looking to do the same?

We have been transmitting for a long time! All the signals we release into space, all the research with space telescopes and x-rays and gama rays... the items we send into space... it takes a long time to receive a signal back so who is to say they haven't already made contact? Who is to say their form of contact isn't what we expected? Are we really listening for the right signal or for what we think is the right signal?

I run this program for the simple reason of research. I have always wished to be more involved in space and science, but haven't been able to do so. I've got over 15 years of computer knowledge that is wrapped up in my mind ready to explode. I can learn a program extreamly quick, but all and all... I guess its just because I have the question... What if?

I think an addition to this program would be able to hear the sounds we are scanning... sometimes things can be missed and there are other people out there that can pick up things better than a computer can.
