| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I first came across SETI@HOME in July 2000 during a trip to the USA. Later the same month I saw a Discovery Channel programme featuring several staff from Seti and my interest was piqued. I downloaded the SETI program first to my own PC and then across the company network which now stands at 20 PCs and three servers all running SETI or BONIC, although I don't like the latter but I'm giving it a go on a couple of PCs.
I run SETI not to be the one who finds 'ET', but rather to help mankind find other civilisations outside our own galaxy. Being an avid fan of space programmes on TV, I find it almost impossible that humans and animals living on planet Earth are the only intelligent creatures in the entire universe to exist.
