Live must exist elsewhere. What are the odds that of the billions of planets in existance that we are the only one with life? The life we discover may be so radically different from anything that we know as life, but it can still be life. There are SO many factors that would affect how life develops, gravity, size, weather, water, carbon / silicone, air breathing or water or something else?
If my computer can play a small role in the discovery of another civilization, why not donate my cycles :)
