I found out about SETI from a friend of mine, Loren Francis. I thought is was a worthy cause, hey I'm not using the computer while I'm sleeping, why not. Well since then I have added about 6 machines to the search and I am in the process of loading all of our workstations at work with SETI (about 70 machines). I look at some of these people that have 40,000 Units completed and I ask, How can I make a difference? Well, if everyone took that attitude, SETI would not have been such a success so far!!!! I would like to introduce a new SETI motto: "Keep Crunching"

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
ET is out there, but I think that he just ducks from our telescopes everytime we are looking in his direction. He's smart. He enjoys watching us from afar like a peeping tom. Only to discover that we are frantacly looking for him. How flattering.
As far as SETI at HOME: I am very impressed that an organization can bring together so many individuals to act as a whole with one common interest. While I think that the discovery of extra-terrestrial life is perhaps one of the greatest(or worst depending on ET's mood) thing that could effect our civilization, I also believe that such efforts could be aimed at problems closer to home like cancer or AIDS research. Why couldn't we use our CPU cycles for things like that? Just an idea.
SETI, keep up the good work.
