Profile: Warrigal

Personal background
I am a 48 year old IT professional, living and working in paradise (Queensland, Australia)
I am employed by the state Parks and Wildlife Service and spend a great amount of my work and personal time visiting different parks throughout the state.
I enjoy camping, bush walking and most outdoor activities.
I often use SETI cmdline to bench mark the processing capability of different computers.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do I run SETI ? The intrigue of searching for life beyond our spec in space combined with the opportunity to participate in the largest cooperative computing exercise ever attempted.

Does ET exist ? If you believe in evolution, the statistics of the countless galaxies, stars and probable solar systems give rise to an astronomical number of possible nurseries of life.
If you believe in the creation, the idea of earth being the only source of sentinal life would seem an awful waste of Gods universe.

Either way, I believe it would be a human conceit to believe it all exists just for us.
