Personal background
Well, there is very little to tell about myself. I am a full time high school student from the GTA in Ontario, Canada. I am 16 years old, as of March 3rd, 2003. I have always had a love for new, and fresh ideas, and I guess this is why SETI appealed to me. I am a mediocre student, but I am an excellent writer, and philosopher. My main love (aside from philosophy, and thinking in general) is politics. Since I was but a toddler, I can remember my parents arguing over which of the Canadian parties was the best, and why. Well, this has bred me into to quite the dissident, and as my friends put it "the next Marx". I think the whole idea of me making such a historical contribution to mankind is absurd...but hey, everyone has a destiny, right? I play video games, and I am a bit of a geek, but to balance this, I play squash, wrestle, and maintain a physically sound body through challenging myself on free weights (bench press, etc.). I work at a small restraunt as a dish washer, and I make an honest living, though I live in my parents basement. I have big dreams too, I am currently *attempting* to learn Russian, as well as many other languages, so I can work in the Canadian Embassy staffing. After high school, I want to go to University of Ottawa, or University of Toronto, failing that I am joining the Royal Canadian Armed Forces, and giving my life to protect my people. I enjoy a lot of music! I listen to everything (moins rap), from Gould to Cannibal Corpse, and then some old barber shop, topped off with some Hendrix. And I live by the most basic of rules, the sky is the limit.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, I am a little hazy on the whole SETI venture, but that is just me. I have read many reports and articles about SETI, and I enjoy what I read (stuff like the Drake equation).

I personally feel that there is extra terrestrial life. How could it be that mankind rests at the pinnacle of intelligence in an INFINITE realm? I mean, not to offend, but mankind on a whole is primative, we still kill, and slaughter one an other, and we call it freedom fighting. Now, continuing on, mankind will discover ET intelligence eventually, but when and how will be beyond me. I don't think that we will ever see them face to face, any interaction will be done by machine and computer, the distance to travel would be to great. Sadly, I feel that if we have already communicate with ETs, then the information has been suppressed to eliminate any possibility of mass hysteria among the populations of Earth.
