Personal background
I am currently a freshman at the University of Minnesota. I am working towards a degree in Computer Engineering. I am running a self-built system with an AMD Athlon XP 2000 . I have Seti run with other background programs so I am not getting the full power of my CPU, but oh well.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1.
I think extraterrestrial life may exist. Humans may or may not ever discover it. Benefits include an exchange of information. Dangers include a religious and philosophical debate.

2.
We already transmit beacons. It is called television and radio.

3.
I run Seti because I want to help out.
