Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Absolutely, as explained in the movie "Contact", it'd be a waste of space without there being more life in the universe. Hopefully, SETI @ Home will allow us to find at least an inkling of a sign of life somewhere, we could benifit technologically by sharing information with the aliens.

2) Yes, we should. We should send the earth's location relative to the plantets in the solar system, along with the sun's location... given by a formula the extraterrestrial's can use to plot the sun's course through the milky way before finding us. We should also include pictures of what we look like, and a brief descritpion on how far we've advanced technologically.

3) I run SETI @ Home because I want to help search for Extraterrestrial life, I belive it is a noble cause. I could only suggest that the groups list would be automatically updated when new groups join.
