Personal background
Originally from the UK but now a "true blue" Aussie.
Have been interested in astronomy since a little boy and still stare into
a telescope now and then.
I have been involved in the IT industry since there have been personal computers.
Ran lots of BBS's in the 80's & 90's including "The Last Frontier"
Now host Web sites for users plus of course run my own.

Away from the computer or scope I enjoy photography, bushwalking, cycling
and motor racing (although only as a spectator these days).

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
E.T. life almost certainly does exist, in fact I'm pretty sure we will discover
some kind of life(or traces of past living things) within our own solar system.

Some day we may even find, or be found by, intelligent ET's and hopefully they will be freindly and we will not shoot them in fear.

I run SETI@home in the hope that the more data processed the more likely we are to find an ET beacon if one is being transmitted.
The worst thing would be if something out there was sending us a signal and we didn't hear it...
