Personal background
I am a 40 year old father of three...I heard about Seti@home in 1999 on a radio program on CBC Radio in Canada. I registered immediately for the program. At that time I had an older computer and found that the program just put too much load on the computer so I deleted it. I recently upgraded my computer and my son reminded me about Seti@home and so now I am running it again!

I have always been interested in space and extra-terrestrial intelligence and hope that my efforts with Seti@home will result in some sort of major discovery relating to the existance of some other lifeform out there.

Lets all keep our eyes to the sky and our computers active in the search for extra terrrestrial intelligence!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I most certainly do beleive that there is life "out there". No matter whether a person is a religious person and beleives that God created the earth and everything around it...or if you are a scientific person and beleive in evolution...the end is the same! It is impossible that Earth is the only place in the universe that houses intelligent life!

Our God would never have just created one planet with life. That is just not the way it works. In fact we could even have been the "test-case" for life or a "beta" version! But which ever way you look at it...I am sure that there are others out there.

As for evolution...is it really possible that the activities that led to the creation of life on Earth are unique to our planet alone? Look to the heavens and see how many stars (solar systems?) you can see...if only ONE of those systems has a planet that could substain life...then think how many millions of other systems that are too far away to see would also be able to sustain life!

Yes there is life out there...will we ever contact them? I don't know! Will they be the "ET" type of creature...friendly and loving...or will they be the "Terminator" type of creature who's goal is to wipe us out? I don't know that either...we can only hope that our first contact is a good one.
