Personal background
Born & raised in Midwest City,a suburb of Oklahoma City, lived here my whole life. Ventured to here & there, but like a boomerang, I returned. Family, I suppose. I am 29 years old and planning on going to college someday. I have many interests, but none so much as my fascination with the "out there". I dreamt of becoming an astronaut, so I thought I'd start by joining the USAF. Well, todays AF isn't as lighthearted on public displays of intoxication as the way my grandpa explained it was. So now all I can do is dream one day of winning the lottery, and like that super rich guy, pay my way to the stars. Then theres this guy, Brian Walker AKA The Rocket Guy, who is much more insane than I, planning to be the 1st civilian to launch himself to 30,000 on his flight in MAY 2002. I cannot even recall when I first downloaded SETI and started running this thing, and ever so closely approaching 100 units, I dream I am the one with that so called "winning number and win the lotto". Well thats all, and I'll end by saying somewhat of a Mulderism..."If at least the truth isn't out there, something else certainly is!"
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes, I very much so believe there is ET out there. The numbers are too astronomical for there NOT to be. It's just a matter of TIME. I hope I am still alive when that day does happen when first contact does occur.
I really do believe that the discovery will be "theirs" in which they will discover Voyager or my hope another satellite that "I wish would be built" with "a faster trajectory to no mans land". The amount of distance V has travelled is just boring me to death, which is true....by the time it gets to any interesting places, I'll be like....80....or rotting.
I am more interested in just the DISCOVERY, because that will prove the existence of ET. Truthfully on the possible benefits or dangers part, I'm curious as to how that goes. With the way the government is, providing the TV is wrong about them and their actions in dealing with such an event, unless it was as phenomenal an event as say "Independence Day" to where the whole free world knew of the existence. I am hoping to be the Dreyfuss in "Close Encounters". Still, who knows, hopefully we won't nuke em without "probable cause".

We should transmit a beacon out there, but preferably an upgraded Voyager would be my call. Upgraded and definitely UPDATED too.

I run SETI@home because I have and always will be highly optimistic in the discovery of the existence of ET. My view of this project is one of gratitude, this project makes me feel like I'm contributing to the greater good, and even if it is not I that has that "winning number" I can still say I was a part of it.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
