Profile: Keith Loring

Personal background
Born in 1964 near Boston, Massachusetts, I lived in Florida for many years
except 8 years as a US Navy Seabee. I found my place in Vermont when I
moved here in 2000. I hike, fish, and snowboard when I'm not writing software
at IBM. I have a house full of girlie-girls and like it just fine that way.
I drive a Harley and eat a lot of Ben and Jerry's.

You're among a very lucky few if your life is as good as mine.... but I'm
pulling for you!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I expect SETI@home to find extraterestrial life eventually, it just
seems too arithmatically unlikely that we're alone.
I'd be pleasantly suprised if it happened in the next few years.
I think we should listen, and when we find a signal we should study
it and consider carefully if and how to respond based of the content.

I run SETI@home because it's free, it's easy, and it might just help
push science to it's rightful place in the minds of all humanity...
When we find that signal millions of people will have to yeild to
to the notion that we are not so special as they once thought.
A refreshing dose of humility, and a mind-bending new reality.
