Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do seti because I feel its totally unlikely that this is the only planet that could support intelligent life. And I like being on the front lines looking for that unknown.
I could imagine someone else on a near S3 Planet looking up at their sky and wondering the exact same thing
From what I could gather this country has been transmitting Radio waves into space since the 1950's. Its corny but effective. Maybe someone humanoid on a distant planet is currently enjoying Jack Parr!
If some slightly more intelligent planet picks these up, maybe they'd come to visit. Share their knowedge of the universe with us.
Currently I'm running only a single PC with Seti@home command line. Its an AMD Athlon XP 2000 System I can run units between 3.75 - 5 hours depending on what I may be doing on the computer during the units run time. Heavy CPU use More Time. System at Idle units run faster. I'm Currently searching for a Cheap (AKA Free) Second machine to Run units on.
