Profile: Tom George

Personal background
I live in Amsterdam, Holland, although I'm originally from the UK. My interest in Seti started out ages ago when I read something about it in New Scientist. I went on to study Astrophysics at Edinburgh University before dropping out half-way through to join the (then) IT boom. Now I work for a global ISP configuring their backbone here in europe.
Outside of work I enjoy playing guitar, surfing (not that I get much done now I live in amsterdam) , music....

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I totally believe that life exists elsewhere in our universe. How, and where is a very different matter. I do believe that it is of prime importance for us a species to discover other intelligent life. I guess I'm hoping that it will help put events on our world into perspective.
I'm sure that discovering ET life will usher in a totally new epoch in earths history.
