Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course extraterrestrial life exists! What a boring Universe it would be with just humans. The question should be " Do you think 'intelligent' extraterrestrial life exists?" Scary to think if they find us first and are far more advanced technologically. Hopefully things will go the direction that Star Trek has portrayed on TV and the Movies. Friends and Enemies waiting.
We have already sent a beacon of sorts with the various Voyager missions, but yes we should build a huge tranmitter on the moon and send messages of friendship. ( how though?)
I think the Seti project is a step in the right direction. But we may be a long way off from trying to send a coherent message to any other star system. Hopefully we are listening to the right frequencies at the right time and that ET's science doesn't differ too much from our own.
