Profile: Ben Geilich

Personal background
My name is Ben Geilich and I am 13 years old. My favorite things to do are ski, swim, and scuba dive. I first heard about SETI a few months ago from my friend. From then on, whenever he saw me, he would always say "Ben, have you downloaded SETI yet?" So, finally I decided to try it. I think it is really cool, and I hope someone finds something. My science teacher also has SETI, and I'm working on my English teacher!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extraterrestrial life exists. I think that it is impossibe for it not to. I hope that we will discover some soon, so we can both benefit from it. The scary thing is that we are looking for radio brodcasts. Some of our first radio brodcasts were of Adolf Hitler speaking. So, the most sure sign that there is other life out there is the fact that none of them have tried to contact us! A question for all of you: If we do find other life, would you rather have them be more advanced or less advanced than we are? There are advantages to each, and dissadvantages to each. Which one would you choose. Think about it!
