Personal background
Long time ago, I have been reading that Carl Sagan's book, "Cosmos" and since, (his fault) I just can't be outside at night and not have a look up there:-). So, there we are, since I came back from a one year trip around our little but beautiful planet, I just thought that I could participate. I live in a wonderful place in Montreux, Switzerland, and guess what, last floor of course. Piece of sky just above my living room couch:-))).

This SETI Program is a real fabulous thing. The idea to let us participate as simple computer users is such a smart and clever thought. I also love the movie with Jodie Foster (Contact is the title) and as many of you all, I really think, if not feel, that we obviously can't be that lonely. I wish that we all together will find out the real first sign from out there. Anyway my little Macintosh (a lap top computer) will help me to help... us:-)))

Take care you all and... keep on searching:-)))
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
#1 Sure, it "must" exist even. About when and how, well that's the question,
right? I don't know when and how, but I suppose that with a little help of friends:-))). I do see some benefit in finding extraterrestrial life and that is mainly the fact that it will bring us all together. Not that I am an utopist, but well, we still can hope, right?

#2 It has been done already on Pionner and or Voyager spaceships. Carl Sagan did that. I do not see what other information we could send out. The question is will "they" understand? However, the language used on the spaceships might not be the one they would understand. Should we include in our next messages some specimen like flowers, trees, water, atmosphere, etc. from our Earth? Now to be back on the "radio" field, I would send out some J.- S. Bach Music and some Whales songs.

#3 See above, I just think that this is the field of computing.Astronomy that is, more than anything else. Since we can not go there to see, we have to work with our imagination, and computers are definitely the best support to our imagination.
About suggestions, I would like to see the children in schools work on that. I suppose some schools already do. Well, there is a little talk talk to UNESCO to do:-)))
