Personal background
Gee only 2000 characters to write in my profile?

Well for starters, I live in Olympia, Washington born and raised. I am currently 24 y/o (single too ladies *grin*)

I worked as a technical researcher and supporter for MS operating systems. Since the fall of the venture capitalist my job moved south on me, and I didn't follow.

I now work as a baker and part-time cynic (they don't pay me for the other part like they should) wondering when my number is gonna be called to claim the lotto jackpot.

I follow the stars when I can. Washington state weather doesn't always agree with viewing hours, though. And I get depressed thinking that the NASA budget isn't big enough to accomplish our full potential. Im sorry I don't know about other countries. Although I hear Russia is doing space tourism, good for you, good for all us =)

I'm sure scientists would agree if we had the support, we'd be sending out first manned shuttle to mars by now. But far be it for me to question our political superiors, HA!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe there is life outside of our mother earth. I believe that with out current technology and progress it is more likely it will find us before we find it.

We as humans fear the unknown and sadly I think that it will be our downfall if we find intelligent life. Take a look at our own history and I think you will agree.

Even if we do find intelligent life, it maybe even longer before we can coexist with it. =/ Still I am hopeful for mankind to erase whatever prejudice we have, and move on with open minds.

I run seti@home for the neato colour graphics. =) I'm curious how some of you folk manage to have avg packets of 8 hours though =P Seriously though I run seti@home because I want to help even in this small way to the science community. I owe to own curiosity of "outer space."

Good luck to us all!
