Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I strongly belief that extraterrestrials exist and therefore I strongly suppport the SETI program. I feel that if we do discover the other life forms though that they will come to us in their own due time which I hope i within the next 40 years so I can see it and actually be able to appreciate it. We should send out a beacon to let other life forms know we exist but as to what we should send out is beyond me. There is so much technology and knowledge throughout our world I wouldn't know the first place to begin to send stuff out. I run SET@home because I feel if that other life forms truely exist that I would want to be apart of their wonderful discovery. One thing though for the prgram is that it doesn't need 256 color display if that is possible because I have a few friends that would like to run the program, and a computer on my network that I would like to run it on, but can't due to their lack in ability to get 256 colors with the crappy video cards that the computers have.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
