Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe extraterrestrial life exist at least on the microbial level. While I doubt the existence of sentient organisms beyond Earth, I have not ruled out the possibility.
The plaques aboard the Pioneers and Golden Records aboard the Voyagers were the first steps... Transmitting a electromagnetic signal should be the next step.
I have been intrigued by the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence for years and how SETI@home aids their progress. While nothing significant has been found yet... With today's technology it's only a matter of time.
