University student from the UK, studying in Bristol. Always been interested in astronomy and the possibility of alian life existance so though i may as well help the SETI@Home cause.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
i think extraterrestrial life does exist and reckon that the use of radio telescopes is the best way to find them currently.
humans should transmit a beacon for others to find as, if other life exists, they are most likely to be more sophisticated and therefore would have more chance of them detecting our signal than the other way around.
i run SETI@home because i want to help in the search for extraterrestrial life. i think that it is a good project and should continue to run as i am certain that eventually it will pay off.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
