Personal background
I am retired from Lafayette, Indiana Fire Department, serving 26.5 years. I am 56 years of age. I have always been interested in ufo's and the unknown. I believe that there is life out there somewhere, and that they have visited our planet, just that the time is not quite right for them to "get to know us". I am an avid metal detectorand coin hunter, and I have a garratt GTI 2000 detector. Married to the same love of my life for 38 years, 3 grown kids and 6 grandkids {another on the way}We retired and moved to Cape Coral, Florida. Where life can't get any better than this (other than being the one whose computer finds "THE SIGNAL" from ET. Let it be ME.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I beleive life exist out there, God never made such a hugh universe just for us.
Knowing that we would one day seek out other life, and finding none.(It would be a cruel joke on us if he did). The dangers and benifits fall into the same catagory as of the here and now, when we make contact with other nations here on earth. You take your chances and hope for the best, what ever we come across, I would hope that the good side of us will be the one "they" see.

Sure send a beacon, send out a "welcome mat", tell them everything that We would want to know about them, both the good and the bad.

I run SETI@home because I am a believer in God and all his creations, we just have not found them yet or they haven't found us. Somehow, I think they have and are taking a wait and see attitude about us.
