Profile: Grant T.A. Jonasson

Personal background
Hello, my name is Grant and I'm 44 years old. I found out about this project from a friend and decided to join up. I live in Surrey, BC and I'm self-employed. I enjoy reading history, anthropology, fantasy novels, playing and writing music, playing Civilizations, Team Fortress, Fortress Forever and Team Fortress Classic. I played the guitar for about 18 years and I hope to get back into this year. I can play the electric, acoustic and classical guitar and my all-time favourite guitar player is Edward Van Halen. I enjoy playing blues, hard rock, alternative, punk and grunge.

Well, that about sums me up in a few sentences! :)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Radio and TV signals have been emitted by us over the past 80 or so years. This means our noise is in the local neighbourhood of stars in our galaxy. If there is life out there, they would know the radio emissions were artifical. I think a signal should be directed at a potential system and hopefully the recipient would able to decipher it. Our message would have to be simple and universal, like a simple formula or pi.
