Personal background
What to say?

I live in Denbigh, North Wales. I'm English and in the middle of things in many ways ad overall enjoying life.

I've always liked the idea that there may be life 'out there' and helping to look for it seems like a good idea. What we will do if we find it or get a reply is anybody's guess!

The Computers - two lightening quick Intel iMacs (2.0GHz 17" widescreen and a newer 2.66GHz 20" - nice!) and a 2.4GHz MacBook with a GPU that is being put to work crunching PrimeGrid work units. The old Blueberry iMacDV (400MHz G3 1GB RAM) has now been retired as it got too slow to be useful to man nor beast. It has been passed on to someone that can make use of it through the Freecycle network.

Oh yes...the name. Turvy was a grey cat that was with us for 17 years and was 'In Charge'. Her name became my internet persona via e-mail addresses in the days when one could still have very short names@provider.co.uk. Turvy hangs out at H2G2. Come and say hello if you like and join in the h2g2 madness.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Why do I run SETI?...

Well you never know. There may just be others out there and since we are noisy (in a radio sense) we might as well be noisy in a productive way.

We are either alone or there is a multitude of life 'out there', some of which is at a similar developmental point as us and doing similar things.
