Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes I believe extraterrestrial life exists. Who says we will find them maybe they will find us if they haven't already ;). As far as benefits and dangers go we will have to wait and see.
As far a sending a beacon goes radio interfence and signals that have been transmitted over the years are out there and god only knows what they have already picked up.
I run SETI@Home becasue it is an interesting project. And maybe I will be the person to find a signal :-0. I think the project is great to be able to bring this many computers together all around the world. It is awsome.
