Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run SETI@Home because I truly believe that there must be intelligent life in the universe, becuase of its sheer size, but the only way we will probably ever meet them is through radio communication. Possibly an alien intelligence with a completely different world view may have ideas, which when combined with ours will provide a greater understanding of the universe. Or they might play a good game of Chess.
2. This is a great way to show that normal people all over the world are the same. Some of us join together for the greater good, while others can't see past the end of their noses, and will never be able to live with other cultures/ideologies/religions.
3. I wish that there was some place in the website which explains the Math shown in the screensaver. When I see something that looks like a perfect curve, is it something actually in the data, or is it just for show? When I see a score of 0.95, is that real good, or does it have to be .9999995? I don't know if I actually see something promising o not.
