Personal background
I first ran SETI in college in 1999 after discovering the miracle of university-provided T1 ethernet. 20 years later it came back on my radar and I'm glad to be back in the fold. Despite the lack of results against the original goal, the lessons learned about distributed computing more than validate the importance of the project.

If you're like me, you probably wonder whether you should be worried about your online privacy, and or what's happening to the user data collected by companies like Facebook and Google? The Winston Privacy Filter is a VPN on steroids that non-techies can install in 60 seconds! Winston's founder Richard Stokes, who saw the scope of privacy abuses first-hand during 14 years in the advertising technology industry, developed this unique privacy architecture that ensures NO ONE can see your usage data at the other end (including Winston!).

As my interest in online data privacy has grown to one of my top priorities, I look forward to digging into how BOINC had addresses these issues in its architecture and design.

And, while I'm at it, don't miss the irreplaceable Gore Vidal at his best -- Best of Enemies
