Personal background
Short and sweet- female in my 30s. I'm trained in environmental science and environmental health and specialise in environmantal toxicology & risk assessment. Currently working at Central Queensland University doing research in Health Informatics. I also work as an entertainer in a local theatre restaurant. I enjoy travel, reading, volleyball, singing and mucking around with my computer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think it would be extremely arrogant of us to imagine that we're the only life in this huge universe of ours. If we have the technology we might as well dump the isolationist attitude and look for new life and the culture and technology that goes with it. If I was ET I'd like to see pictures of our Earth and its people. I think that SET@home is a great initiative, allowing data to be analysed in large quantities without requiring government funds to be diverted from other areas of need. Well done, everyone!!
