Personal background
I've long loved and been fascinated by science, having earned top science student award in junior high, and I read about astrophysics and cosmology, etc. for enjoyment. Kip Thorne, Brian Cox and Michio Kaku are a few of my favorite present day scientists; and I like thought-provoking shows such as "Ancient Aliens." In college, my focus turned to political science and pre-law, and I earned outstanding pre-law student award upon graduation from Millkin University. Alas, my current profession isn't in any of those fields. Rather, my experience has evolved to digital and traditional marketing -- from audience development from a magazine publishing perspective to social media to website Search Engine Optimization (SEO) et al. I question where I'd be in my career had I continued formally studying science (and/or math) rather than the law and politics. Thus, my interest in joining SETI at Home project in order that I can contribute a bit to the field and remain engaged. As a Christian, I think belief in God and adhering to scientific principles -- including the search for ET life -- aren't mutually exclusive.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I want to contribute in some way to the search for ET -- however simple or advanced. I don't believe Earth-based life forms are/have been alone in this unimaginably vast universe.
