Profile: R. J. Rothemund

Personal background
I am a 63 year old semi-retired medical technologist at a hospital in Wooster, OH. I have been a Sci-Fi fan for years, with a yen for Star Trek and Star Wars. I belong to the USS Columbia with a home port in Wooster, OH. Other interests include digital photography, golf, computers, the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. I also play poker at the World Series of Poker if I can every year. I retired in 2012 with over 32 years of service but I got bored and now am one of the re-employed former retirees. I have been participating on the SETI project on and off since 1999.

Update - I now have 4 computers working on units from Seti@home and World Community Grid. Two of them are older laptops I salvaged and two of them are older desktops. Three of them are using Windows 7 and one using Windows 10. I am in the process of upgrading one of the desktops, and I am going to build a new "supercomputer" from scratch. I'll keep you posted.

Update - I built my new computer. I just had 5X heart bypass surgery and have lots of time recovering. My new computer is a Z370 with 64 Gigs of ram and Geforce 1060 graphics card!! My average credit is over 6700 and climbing. I bought another 1060 card and put it on my old computer and then put an old Geforce 950 card in a Windows 7 comp. All three comps and running quite well... temps are all OK. All three are running Seti and World community grid. My laptops are running World community grid only.

I was just notified I am the SETI @ Home user of the day. What a great honor!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
We shall see, won't we? I happen to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It would be interesting to see if God created life on other planets, and how He dealt with the sin question on their planets. I suspect in the same way.
