Profile: S@NL - Marcel Zuiderveld bc.

Personal background
Hello, my name is Marcel Zuiderveld, 31 years of age and I live in the eastern part of The Netherlands, which is a small country in the Western of Europe. In my working life I am a mailman, who always rings twice before going to the next door :-). My hobbies are playing games on the computer and on the Internet (a live long and prosper to the cable-internet-company!). Other hobbies are watching series like Star Trek and collect a few things about that serie. Sure SETI@Home is one of the projects I would like to participate in. The boy in the picture is my son, Geordi (yes, named after that guy in Star Trek ...).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course extraterrestrial life exists! I Really think we are not the only living beings in this universe. However, I must say that I have doubts in how extraterrestrial life would look like. Maybe we're looking for worms or maybe we're looking for a civilisation which is far too advanced for us to deal with. Although worms do not send any signals in outer space :-). Dunno, but that's what's keeping me interested in volunteering in this project. I sure hope we make contact with them in MY lifetime! I am much too curious in finding an answer to THE question which keeps us all busy! And if we're being squashed by those beings so be it, but then you have definately found an answer :-). In sure hope I can participate in this project for a long time and with all the means in my posession, which are currently 2 computers, a Celeron 466 and an P II 350. Maybe in the future there will be more counting power for S@H, so count me in ...
