Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I believe in contributing to others with a passion and drive that is worthwhile. Besides, my servers are running, and I am not using all of the usage potential on it.
The project will eventually pay off. I would like to have been known that I contributed to a belief that was not quite certain, but definitely inevitable. There is a future in locating that we are. Just a brush with time, surrounded by life in space.
One of the many suggestions I would like is to see and compile are all the years of my contribution, starting with SETI back in the 90's. It only shows that I joined in 2002. That is NOT true. And let us all make the program accessible to all ages, and devices, like smartphones. Allow us to network with major manufacturing computer companies that practice "greener" methods of energy. Perhaps a solar powered workstation, running SETI calculations, on the top of sky rises! This should show that even with your program running, their machines are still powerful enough to complete tasks for the everyday consumers needs.
