I'm not really one for filling out these forms because they are so tedious and time consuming. SETI@home runs 24 / 7 on two machines in my house.
Machine 1:
Windows XP Professional build 2600
AMD Athlon Thunderbird @ 906Mhz
256MB DDR SDRAM
Machine 2:
Genuine Intel Pentium II @ 233Mhz
96MB SDRAM
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I really hope my computing resources are being used for something useful. I like to think they do anyways. Perhaps this concept should be implemented for more than just searching for alien life forms. I'm sure that there are many supercomputing applications that might be able to benefit from this sort of volunteer computer processing!
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
