Personal background
I am just someone with a huge love for the universe and with as vast as it is I cannot imagine it devoid of other life forms. I would love to know that if we do get a signal, that I may have helped find the data on it with my computer or at the very least my computing power added to the grid helped it get found faster.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I run SETI@home because I believe in the project and want to do my part as a volunteer.
2. I believe this project will help advance the human race into the interstellar community if there is one. Perhaps the first contact we make will be an advanced species that can reveal to us technology we have only dreamed of until this point, and that contact, communication, and help from more advanced species would help us as a planet to stop killing each other and our planet.
3. It would be awesome to actually be able to see what my computer has helped to find or if there is a way to do that it was easier to locate.
