| Originally from the northeastern United States, I reside on Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands and am employed in retail administration. I use both my home PC and my office PC to process SETI data, thus providing more units for study and a healthy competition between the two processors and among the other users from my country. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
| With a keen interest in but very limited knowledge of our universe and those beyond, I have been participating in the SETI@home project since 15 May 1999 for several reasons, the strongest of which is that I hope that the project results in some evidence of other "life." Whether or not it exists, it still is exciting to be a part of a strong, legitimate, viable worldwide effort toward a common goal, and often it is that effort rather than the goal itself that is most rewarding. Although at this writing no "alien signal" has been detected, we humans have learned much about ourselves and our universe through the efforts of and our participation in the various SETI projects. As for whether I believe that ET life exists, I can only say that it depends on our definition of life. |
