Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I absolutely believe extraterrestrial life exists. I beleive we will have undeniable contact within the next 14 years. I beleive they currently communicate with us constantly, but our crude forms of data collection and analysis are incapable of translating what we are getting.
Just as the light spectrum goes on beyond ultra violet and infrared, I beleive that highly intelligent, sentient life forms "live" in those realms
(dimensions)just outside of our own 3D/ UV to Infrared detectable "world". Perhaps they are in the plaid zone??
I beleive the human brain is the most perfect receiver and transmitter of any instrument we will encounter, but, being a ;esser evolved species and a society that leans heavily on empirical fact finding, we will first have to have something enormous whack us on the heads from "out there", before we figure out how to use our built in receivers.
When we stop looking for 3 dimensional green guys and begin to "listen" to out-of range patterns, we will find our new friends waiting patiently, right next to us. I beleive that the uncharted 90 some odd percent of our own human brains hold the capacity to interpret these dialogs that go on constantly with these new friends. Many have called this "conversation" things like "The collective conscious". Through a community effort between scientists, radio astronomers, hypnotherapists, mathmeticians, and neurologists-we will "develop" a "rosetta stone" of this language of inter dimensional communication and make some gigantic leaps in our own knowledge immediately.
This would, of course, require a setting aside of the massive egos of people within these different fields of study and, more importantly, it would require open minds towards techniques and analysis of the data.
They are closer than we think. They are in our thinking.
I think the Seti@home project is a fantastic way for us to reach out, not only to "them" but to each other. It is an awesome thing to browse the member lists and see the diverse locations of each of us. |
