Personal background
I am currently a student, and in the future I hope to pursue a career in radio astronomy. In my free time I like to build amateur radio telescopes, do science projects at a nearby radio observatory, stargaze, read, make craft projects, hike, and hang out with my family and pets (two cats and a dog, plus multiple fish).
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I want to help with the effort to search for ET in any way I can, and someday in the future I hope to do some SETI work myself. I learned more about SETI@home at a Breakthrough Listen conference, which was absolutely fascinating. I think this is a fantastic project - not only does it let SETI groups crunch the data they need to, it also gets the public and students interested and involved in the quest to answer the question "Are we alone?"
