Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I believe extraterrestrial life could easily exist, but that may depend on one's definition of life. I doubt humans will discover extraterrestrial life in my lifetime, because going by the laws of physics that we understand now, travelling even outside our solar system would not be possible (although there is the slight possibility of othe life within our solar system). Humans may never discover other life at all. There are possibly both dangers and benefits from finding extraterrestrial life, but I doubt there would be many dangers, because if we find it then chances are we humans would be more advanced, and if they find us I believe that they would have to have a very advanced way of sustaining life, but I could be wrong.

2. While there is widespread belief that extraterrestrial life could possibly exist, I think we should definitely try all forms of communication. I don't think that it matters too much exactly what we send, becuase I highly doubt that they could decode it.

3. I run SETI@home to keep my computer productive, and help process recieved data untis. While I'm not making use of the cpu someone else can.
