Personal background
I'm a Maryland participant with a fascination for cosmology, and a great and lifelong respect for science, in general. I believe strongly that there are billions of intelligent species in this unimaginably vast universe. For those moments when I can *begin* to grasp the distances separating us I always feel wonder, but sometimes sadness, as well... With such hopeless remoteness, I can never know anything about most of them.

I do not count myself among the UFO enthusiasts... there is too little skepticism in that crowd, I'm afraid. Nor does astrology or any other pseudoscience do a thing for me. We need not invent new ways (or sustain ancient ones) to be excited by our world, galaxy, and universe -- they hold wonders enough!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home to be a part of some of the most exciting science being done today -- to find evidence that we have galactic neighbors with at least some technology similar to ours.
